The Frank O. Pinion Radio Movie Dose: ‘Tiger King’ breakdown, a Tom Brokaw impersonation, and ‘Ozark’ teasing

Every week on The Large Morning Show in the Afternoon, something different happens.

You can’t pin it down to one word or something precise, but the hour of entertainment talk just weaves and moves on its own terms each week.

Sometimes, three or four movies are dissected. Other times, there isn’t a single movie reviewed. With the movie theaters closed and on-demand fare only sparingly juicy, the television is getting more attention.

New Netflix shows like “Tiger King” and “Ozark” are dominating the discussion right now for different reasons. The latter is shaping up to be a mash-up of “Breaking Bad” and “The Sopranos” while the former is just bizarre and weird.

While only Tim Woodburn had burned through the entire third season of the Jason Bateman-Laura Linney starring drama, the majority had at least a small nibble of the Joe Exotic-Carole Baskin docu-series.

You would need two hours to completely relinquish your thoughts on this show, and that’s not a joke. It’s equal parts stupid, outlandish, interesting, unique, and insane all at once during its seven episodes, which average around 50 minutes each.

Frank had just started it, so there will be more on this next week-but we can all agree that Baskin soaked her dead husband’s feet in sardine oil and fed him to her tigers.

That is for sure!

Here’s the listening link to the entire hour.
