The Frank O. Pinion Radio Movie Dose: Why ‘The Peanut Butter Falcon’ is a must see movie

There are times when I come on the show and literally just wing it. No prep, notes, or research. Tuesday was different.

I had watched “The Peanut Butter Falcon” weeks before this segment, harboring my thoughts in order to wait for the release date to pass and for the embargo to expire. It was like having a full bucket of candy before Halloween night and waiting to eat it until your friends got some of their own.

It’s a tremendous movie and earned the highest rating mark of 4 ARDs. Shia LaBeouf’s brilliant lived-in performance. Zack Gottsagen’s amazing debut. Dakota Johnson finally getting a role where she can do some digging and evoke something useful.

All across the board, Tyler Nilsson and Michael Schwartz’s film opened people’s eyes up to the reality of Down Syndrome and told a wonderful story at the same time.

You can listen to the full segment here.
