The Frank O. Pinion Radio Movie Dose: Uber, television, 2019 movies, and more

There are weekend where very few new movies come out and there is nothing to talk about on the radio the following week. Last week was one of those times for me on the Large Morning Show in the Afternoon with Frank O. Pinion on 590 The Fan KFNS.

It’s a good thing that the group can conjure up all sorts of topics in the moment, including a long-form conversation about Uber drivers and the past year in film.

Before anything could be discussed, the rideshare app took center stage last Tuesday, and the topic of the day had to do with whether or not Uber drivers should talk or not. I’ve been a long-standing critic of the popular view, that drivers always try to initiate conversation. During my nearly 3,500 rides, I have always found the rider to be the curious one.

TV shows were discussed, listener calls were taken, and some nostalgia was rendered with films from the previous year that were adored. Frank watched a few things and we discussed that, including a take on Adam Sandler’s new film, “Uncut Gems.” Idina Menzel, widely known for her work in Disney’s “Frozen” movies, gets to play something different, and the guys spoke about that as well.

For the entire listening link, here’s the audio.
