The Frank O. Pinion Radio Movie Dose: ‘Dolemite’,’Black and Blue’ reviews

Since I was out this week on jury duty, I wanted to present last week’s Tuesday dose of movie talk on the Large Morning Show in the Afternoon, where I reviewed “Dolemite Is My Name” and “Black and Blue.”

One you should see and the other you can skip, but here are the details.

Eddie Murphy and Wesley Snipes make their raucous return to the screen in Craig Brewer’s true story retelling of a hustler named Rudy Ray Moore who dreamed of being a star. A man of many talents, Moore sought out to be a comedian, singer, and actor. The movie is quite a kick and I recommended it on Frank’s show.

The one to skip is Deon Taylor’s “Black and Blue,” your run of the mill cop thriller about a rookie officer who sees something she shouldn’t have and much fight off dirty cops over the course of a day.

It’s your average clean and dirty cops swill, digestible but not noteworthy.

TV recommendations and a thoughtful Uber conversation also took place. The full listening link is right here.
