Lynn also contributes to 550 KTRS every Friday. Carl Middleton, aka “Carl The Intern,” former radio personality and co-host at KSHE 95 in St. Louis and co-host of Max On Movies with Max Foizey. And myself, Dan Buffa, film critic at KSDK News and weekly contributor to the Large Morning Show in the Afternoon with Frank O. Pinion on 590 KFNS.

Reel Times Trio may sound like a Wednesday jazz club or Friday night guitar club at your local coffee shop, but it’s much simpler. It’s just three film critics from the Midwest talking about their passion: the movies. Television is nice and all, but movies are an eternal pleasure. Something to look forward to and back on.

This week above The Fountain on Locust, in Ron Stevens’ stellar recording studio, we jumped in and dished our thoughts on the 2019 Academy Awards.

Who will win and who should win? Sometimes, the answer was the same; most of the time, it was different.

Carl favors Roma for some of the awards while Lynn finds herself rooting for Spike Lee and his revolutionary new film, BlacKkKlansman. I was a sucker for Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born. We go up and down the list of the Oscar categories.
